California

Along the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the West Coast of United States of America lies the state of California. This is the most populates of all the states of US. The largest cities in terms of area as well as population in the state of California are San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Jose. The state is popular for many reasons including the geography and climate.

This state was inhabited first by the Spaniards and was an off coast Spanish colony called Alta California in the middle of the eighteenth century. In the beginning of the 19th century California and Mexico were declared an independent state. By 1846 the coalition ended and Mexico and California separated and the later was ceded by the former to the United States of America post the Mexican-American War. The state was given a permanent position in the union of states on 9th of September in the year 1850. the state of California ranks on number three amongst US states in terms of the area occupied and spreads from the Coast of Pacific to the mountains and forests in the east and the west respectively. The state is beautiful and gifted with ocean, mountains, forests as well as a desert and thus is well rounded in terms of natural habitat.

The Central Valley of the State of California has a rich soil and is the most agriculturally viable area on the globe. Initially an agricultural land the fate of the state changed with the advent of California Gold Rush in the middle of the nineteenth century. This led to a shift in economy as well increased its status in terms of inhabitants to the most populous state of the USA.

LA then became the entertainment hub in the beginning of the 20th century and changed the destiny of the state of California forever.
