Indianapolis is the seat of the Marion County and the capital city of the Indiana. The city is amongst the thirteenth in terms o population in the United States of America. The total population of the city is 781,870. It is situated in the Midwestern region and ranks on number two amongst the most populous capitals of the United States of America preceded by Phoenix. The city has many small and large products and there are many products manufactured in the city of Indianapolis. The city has had the privilege of being host of many events especially regarding sports namely the 1987 Pan American Games, Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournaments, United States Grand Prix, Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament and World Basketball Championship. The city is nicknamed as The Racing Capital of the World because of all the sporting events that are organized in the city. The metropolitan area of the city is one of the most progressive areas of the United States of America and the counties included in the growth chart Johnson, Hamilton and Hendricks. The total area occupied by the city is 372 sq miles or 963.5 km² making it the twenty third largest cities of the United States of America.

Economically the city is progressing as is demonstrated by it annual GDP as well as per capita income. The city is the main functional and administrative part of Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical venture as well as wireless distribution & logistics provider Bright point.
