North Carolina

North Carolina is one of the states of the United States of America located in the Atlantic Ocean. The state is situated in the south eastern part of the country. The capital city of the state of North Carolina is called Raleigh. In terms of area the state ranks on number 28 amongst all the states of the United States of America with a total area of 53,865 sq miles. The state of North Carolina was amongst the Thirteen Colonies altogether termed as Carolina which were inhabited by the British Colonials.

In the year 1861 North Carolina seceded from the union and gained re admittance on the 4th of July in the year 1868.

The popular flight by the Wright brothers was in this state at an area called as Kill Devil Hills in the year 1903. The estimated population of the present day North Carolina is approximately 9,061,032 and it is one of the most diverse and rapidly growing states with a rate of 2% since 1 April 2000 in the United States of America. The city has an elevation above sea level of about 6,700 feet. Largest city of the state is called Charlotte which also has the metropolitan area called as Charlotte metro area. The state of North Carolina ranks on number 10 amongst all the states of the United States of America in terms of population.

The climate of the state of North Carolina is diverse and ranges from a warm near to the coast and a continental climate as the mountains approach. The gross state product is estimated to be $375 billion. The trade of the state is based upon agriculture and poultry farming. The major products cultivated are tobacco, soybeans and potatoes. Recently the state has redirected towards industrialization and the large cities are getting involved in the process gradually. The state is a diverse and progressive state of the United States of America.
