Bismarck

Bismarck is one of the cities of the state of North Dakota which is a state of the United States of America. It has the status of being the capital of North Dakota, as well as the county seat of the Burleigh County. The city ranks second with respect to the level of population among all the cities of North Dakota, and only comes after Fargo. According to figures collected in the year 2006, the city was home to more that fifty eight thousand people. It was in the year 1872 when Bismarck was founded. The total are covered by the city is around seventy one square kilometers, out of which around twenty seven square miles is covered by land, and the remaining area is covered by water.

The city of Bismarck is located across the Missouri River on the Missouri Plateau. The city of Mandan and Bismarck together form the metropolitan statistical area of Bismarck-Mandan. The tallest building of the state is located in the center of the city, and is known as the North Dakota State Capitol. There are a larger number of people living in the city of Bismarck who are employed by the Government. Bismarck is the hub pf economy of the south central part of the state of North Dakota, as well as the centre of retail trade, manufacturing industries, and health care.

Because the city is located in the middle of the Great Lakes and the Rocky Mountains in the Great Plains, the climate of Bismarck is the same as the climate of the places it is situated near to. The weather in the winter is cold and there is snowfall at an average level. The weather in the summer season is warm and occasionally humid and hot as well. The winter season lasts for a long period. The climate is mostly dry, but there are thunderstorms sometimes in the summer and spring seasons.
