Fargo

Fargo is one of the cities of the state of North Dakota which is situated in the United States of America. The city of Fargo is a part of the Cass County, as well as being the county seat of the Cass County. This county is located in the region of the Red River Valley. According to figures collected in the year 2006, Fargo was home to more than ninety thousand people. As per these figures, with respect to the level of population Fargo is the largest city of the state of North Dakota. The area it covers is equal to around thirty eight square miles.

The city is a part of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area, as are Moorhead of the state of Minnesota, and West Fargo of the state of North Dakota. The metropolitan are is home to more than one hundred and seventy four thousand people according to figures collected in the year 2000. This figure is believed to have risen to more than one hundred and ninety two thousand people, and the estimates have been made by the Census Bureau in the year 2007. The metropolitan area also includes the Clay County which is situated in the north western part of Minnesota, as well as the Cass County, which is situated in the south eastern part of North Dakota.

The city of Fargo is the hub of economy of both the major part of the eastern area of North Dakota, as well as of a part of the north western area of Minnesota. It is a major center of education, health care services, and manufacturing industries for the region. The North Dakota State University is situated in Fargo, and The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, is the local newspaper. It was in the year 1871 when the city was founded, and the motto of the city of Fargo is the Gateway to the West.
